It has been a VERY long time since I updated this blog. Like my friend Keith says, blogs give you the idea that people care to hear about the minutia of your life. Well, I have things to say and I want to share them with my family.
This is what's going on right now. If you were not aware, my sister in law Joanna is pregnant with her first baby, a girl. She is 29 weeks. On Monday, Joanna had a doctor's appointment with her high risk OB up near Boston. Something didn't look good during the appointment and the news that was relayed to me was, "Joanna's baby is coming today." I was absolutely terrified. It is TOO early. I was at work. Justin was on his way home from Atlantic City. My mother in law, Jennee needed to get to the hospital in Providence where Joanna was on her way to so they could deliver and they had no one to watch my little in laws. I left work and drove straight to my mother in law's so I could babysit.
Throughout the day we received more news. Joanna had two ultra sounds. One was a fancy one that showed how big baby is and that she is viable. Little Maggie is only 1 lb 12 oz. She is going to need a lot of prayers. They decided to keep Joanna on monitors and give her steroid shots to help Maggie's lungs grow. Jo got the first shot around 5:30 pm Monday and the second today at the same time. Delivery is scheduled via c-section for Wednesday, June 27 around 5:30 p.m. Justin and I will be there for support because she will need all of it that she can get. I cannot imagine seeing your baby for the first time and having her be so teeny tiny. I know that doctors can do amazing things and that the technology is so advanced now. I am hoping and praying for all of us that Maggie is able to grow big and strong while she is on the feeding tubes and breathing machines. We need a lot of positive prayers and thoughts.
Nothing about this is easy but I know a lot of women who had their babies premature and now have healthy little boys and girls. I pray that this is the same result for my niece.
Love and miss you all..
